The current top-ranked university in Russia is Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU.ru / МГУ) which

• THE-WUR ranked #163, #95, and #107 in 2023, 2024, and 2025 respectively

• CWUR ranked #202, #217, and #233 in 2022-23, 2023, and 2024 respectively

(If either of these ranking organizations/processes changes its name or has a very clear successor, that successor will be used. In the unlikely event that both of these ranking organizations/process stop publishing rankings or drastically change their ranking criteria, this resolves N/A. These determinations will be by my judgement (I won't bet in this market), after proposing action and soliciting feedback for 1 week in the comments here. These organizations have been publishing these rankings since 2011 and 2012 respectively.)
