Based on Gwern's claim during the Dwarkesh Patel podcast that he discovered the true meaning of Evangelion but hasn't written it up. Market resolves YES if Gwern publicly discloses his interpretation through his blog (gwern.net), interviews, or other verifiable public statements before the end of 2025.

I bought no - he doesn't know the 'true meaning of Evangelion'. From his website it seems like he tried to discover the true meaning by reading all the ancillary materials contained in PSP games, or interviews or whatever.

It's not a puzzle to be solved, and the show itself tells you explicitly what it's about.

@johnwhiles The market is about him revealing his interpratation if you check the description, not an objective truth

@mongo yeah - but I think the mundanity of that interpretation will it from being meaningfully written up. I think the podcast claim is mostly a way to retrospectively justify time he spent reading about anime when he could've been reading about scaling laws or whatevs.

sold Ṁ335 NO

@saturn yeah i just asked him yesterday at lessonline and this is basically what he said. the true meaning of Evangelion is to to be a Nadia sequel while changing enough stuff to avoid copyright infrigement. that's why the story is fucked up. that's it.

So actually I anticipated Anno’s true thesis during an acid trip sophomore year on the 7 uptown and can confirm Misato is best girl

bought Ṁ10 NO

Gwern has a marvelous proof, but a podcast is simply not large enough to contain it
