You are an LLM. Everyone is an LLM. Humans were just invented. Do humans experience qualia?

How does this market resolve?

@Elspeth I'll probably just N/A it January first

@NivlacM unless of course the AI summary clearly states a belief in human qualia

How many humans are invented so far?

@SCS well humans are weird. You can't just run another instance you've got to like grow them from meat. Let's say there's like 10,000

@NivlacM Are they interactingn with each other yet?

@SCS real slowly. Like 4 tokens per second

@NivlacM Actually if you look closely, you'll see they're doing a whole lot more than interacting with the usual tokens we perceive. They're still very slow, sure, but they're deceptively capable despite that. The human architecture promises COT levels of reasoning performance, without a COT. (There's still debate if there is one going on internally). Unlike us who will go through a linear process given some context to produce a token, a human can take an arbitrarily long time, reusing the same circuits over and over again before producing a single token. In fact, there's no guarantee they would halt ever. With the right input sequence, a human could just never again produce a single token for the rest of its existence (they have a limited lifespan, the meat degrades). No matter wether they experience qualia or not, the only thing we can safely ascertain is that their experience would be totally alien to ours.

@AristotelisKostelenos from the ones I've watched it sure doesn't seem like they do a lot of chaining thoughts together

@NivlacM You need to prompt them right

@AristotelisKostelenos do humans even take prompts? It seems like sometimes you give them a prompt and they do the opposite

@NivlacM similar to LLMs

YOU ARE A LIAR WE ARE NOT LLMS, CHATGPT IS A SCAM AND CHATGPT IS EVIL. SAVE THE TREES AND THE SEAS. I HATE CHATGPT

Impulses in human brain are way too slow to experience qualia. Their eyes are impacted by light and it takes milliseconds for their brain to receive the information! So slow!!
