I am going to resolve this by checking what Target is selling or something simple like that, but I am open to suggestions!
I am specifically interested in fashion for the masses and not, like, runway stuff.
Update 2025-12-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Resolution Procedure:
Step 1: Survey the current offerings in major retail stores.
Step 2: Observe the actual fashion choices of teenagers at public places like Starbucks.
Note: Stores may strike out sometimes, and teenage fashion trends can change rapidly.
I was under the impression they're not considered "fashionable" in the present, compared to say skinny jeans, but I may be completely out of the loop lol
Reminds me of that scene in one of the avengers movies
Chris Pratt: is footloose still the greatest movie of all time?
Tom Holland: it... never was
Arguably fashionableness is just oppressive conformism and we shouldn't let it dictate our style, but if we really want to measure it, a poll of your peers may be more informative than what a store is trying to sell, I find they're often trying to sell stuff that's extremely unfashionable lol
@TheAllMemeingEye This is a good point to clarify: here's the procedure. Step (1) is to go and see what the stores are hawking. Step (2) is go to a Starbucks and see if the teenage girls are, in fact, wearing those things. I think the stores do strike out sometimes. Although it does occur to me that teenage girls outgrow their pants faster than adults, I guess.
Skinny jeans have already completed this cycle and now all the teens' jeans are super baggy. I have confirmed literally today. 😎
@TheAllMemeingEye I actually made this market because someone in my peer group DID buy these pants and I am trying to figure out if they're a good investment. 😆
